5.0 out of 5 stars Schwinn Protocol 2.0 - Good Purchase!, May 26, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Schwinn Protocol 2.0 Men's Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike (26-Inch Wheels) (Sports)
First time purchase on Amazon for me, but glad I did. This bike is a good fit for me. I'm 6'1" 200lbs. Don't do HARD off roading, but this bike was purchase mostly for trail rides on paved or stone dust. I'm extremely happy so far and I have had it for a few months. I bought the bike online, and It was delivered to my house in a box in perfect condition. Some assembly IS REQUIRED. I took the bike directly to a local Schwinn dealer (Towners, in Rochester NY) and had them do the assembly. Paid an extra $50 for that but it was worth it to me to get it properly assembled. I also bought helmet, water bottle, seat bag, and security lock from the dealer. The only thing I did NOT like about this bike was the seat. A real wedgy wacker!. I put the old seat from my other bike on this bike and I now have a very comfortable ride. I love this bike. Shifts great. Dual disc brakes WILL STOP YOU! The bike is a real floater too with the front and rear suspension. I just got back from a nice 1 hour ride... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Great buy & Great trail rider, March 15, 2012

This review is from: Schwinn Protocol 2.0 Men's Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike (26-Inch Wheels) (Sports)
I read all the reviews on this bike & they were all bad or poor reviews I give this bike a chance and bought it assemble it my self in 30 minutes or less tested all gears they didn't break yet. I also bought a Burley bike trailer to tow around my 5 yr old daughter I've had no problems so far had it for a month now. I took it on a 5 mile dirt trail yesterday up and steep inclines, roots stickin out of ground and came back home no problem. I think the people that gave these reviews don't know how take care of things or deciede to ruin people opinions of certain items. Love it & recommend to all buyers around looking for a comfortable bike with options like this one

2.0 out of 5 stars Great looking, poor overall quality, cheapy chinese made., December 15, 2010
I'll admit that this is a nice looking bike with some decent options, but it is no more than a Wal-Mart bike. When it came, the front rim was slightly bent and the front forks were on backwards, so I corrected the forks and got a new rim through warranty. One day I was riding up an incline and the rear sprocket busted, after just 3 weeks, then after warranty replaced it, it only took 3 days for the replacement to break.....while riding up an incline, on a paved sidewalk too; I am 5'8" and 140lbs, there is no excuse for this.

The warranty department has sent me another of the correct sprocket and a replacement rim, but the rim is off a different model. So they sent me the correct sprocket for that rim, saying it would work, but it doesn't, and they admitted this. So now i'm awaiting them to restock the original rim, won't be until February, and i'm back at square one, with the defunct original sprocket.

Nice looking bike, good options, but it's low quality,... Read more
